Aloe vera is one of the popular houseplants to be around. This is a succulent that stores enough water in its leaves. Aloe vera leaves contain a gel-like substance that is used in dealing with many medical or clinical issues. Often, the gel is used to prevent skin rashes, burns, scars, etc.
Placing this plant indoors also helps in preventing powerful and harmful toxin gases in the air. And gives us purified air. It prevents toxin gases like formaldehyde, carbon-dioxide, benzene, etc.
Can We Use Baking Soda For Aloe Vera Plants?
Baking soda works effective on vegetables and fruits off the vine and causes no harm to your plants.
You can also use baking soda for your aloe vera plants to encourage growth and to prevent fungal diseases and pests and to be healthy always.
All you need to do is, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with one gallon of water and use this mixture to water your aloe vera plants in the garden as well as in containers. Watering this mixture for your plants reduces the burning of leaves. You can also use this water to clean your leaves with a damp cloth to get rid of dust and pests.
But, before using baking soda on your entire plant, it’s always best to do a patch test on a small portion of the plant to make sure that it will not harm the plant. Remember to not apply this mixture on any plant including aloe vera on a hot or brightly sunny day which leads to the cause of burning and its ultimate demise.
Water your plant only when the top of the soil feels completely dry, do not allow the plant to sit in soggy soil for too long as it causes root rot.
